JUDGING

Judging will be conducted by distinguished professional journalists who are not members of SPMJ and are appointed by the Chair of the SPMJ Contest Awards Committee. Award finalists and winners will be announced at the SPMJ Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The judging panel in each category can select up to three finalists. Judging panels are not obligated to name a winner in any category unless they determine the quality of the work under consideration represents the standard of excellence that is the hallmark of the Society of Professional Motorsports Journalists. Accordingly, there may be a category or categories without a winner.

The decisions of the judges are final and are not subject to review.
