ELIGIBILITY & RULES

Members of the SPMJ are eligible to submit work for consideration. Works that have been published, posted on commercial sites on the Internet, or broadcast over the air in the United States are eligible. English language submissions only.


The SPMJ will accept submissions from publishers on behalf of authors and creators, subject to the same terms and rules as for individual submission by those authors and creators. Any awards or prizes resulting from such submissions will be granted to the author/creator, not to the publisher.​

SUBMISSION LIMITS

​

There is a limit of two (2) submissions per nominee per category. SPMJ members are welcome to submit works in as many categories as they wish. Each submission must be accompanied bya separate, fully-completed entry form.

SUBMISSION DATES

​

Submissions must be received with completed submission forms and a cover letter on-or- before May 1, 2026. Late submissions will be evaluated by the judging panel.

 

HOW TO ENTER

​

Complete the entry form and follow the category-specific instructions below:

​

  • Articles: Submissions must be uploaded in .pdf format or provided via a direct link, maintaining the original layout and legibility as first published.

​

  • Books: For published books, one (1) physical copy must be submitted. If you wish to have your book returned after judging, you must include a self-addressed mailer with sufficient postage. Books received without return postage become the property of the SPMJ.

  • Social Media: Submissions must include a direct link to the post or YouTube Channel. Accounts must be public (no subscription or "follow" requirements to view content).

​

  • Photographs: Submissions must be provided via a downloadable link (e.g., Dropbox or Google Drive) in high resolution. Documentation or "proof of when and where taken" must be included with the submission.

​

  • Video: Submit via a downloadable link in the same resolution as originally published.

​

  • Audio: Submit via a downloadable link in .mp3 format.
